What are dermal filler injections?
Dermal Filler is a jelly-like substance made of hyaluronic acid; a natural component of our human body, that unfortunately is broken down as a natural bodily process as we get older. As we get age, we naturally loose the elasticity in our skin, our fat pads shrink and our bone volume is lost. Dermal Filler is injected into different depths under the skin to help replace volume loss, provide facial symmetry, and soften the appearance of wrinkles.
How long does dermal filler last?
Dermal Filler results last anywhere between 9- 18 months, with some clients having product last more than 2 years. Longevity varies depending on the product being used as well as the client’s metabolism and lifestyle.
It may be suggested that you need a few treatments to achieve your desired look. It is suggested to achieve better results, is to be consistent and retreat/top up 12 months!
How long until I see results?
You will notice a change immediately. However, there will be more than likely a small amount of swelling and some potential bruising. This is a normal response to dermal filler (especially the lip area!) After about 3-7 days, the swelling and bruising will start to subside and the results will continue to get better over a 4-week period.
